Corporate Social Responsibility
Sepura, led by its Senior Management Team, is committed to advancing our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) policies, systems and initiatives across all areas of its business, with a particular emphasis on ethical behaviour, concern for employee welfare, health and safety, care for the environment and community involvement.
Recognising the positive effect CSR can have - both on Sepura’s reputation and its ability to create long-term value for shareholders - we make considerable effort to provide information and actively invite feedback from our customers, suppliers, partners and employees.
Ethical behaviour
Everyone at Sepura aims to conduct business to the highest ethical standards of practice and legal principles, and employees and business partners are expected to demonstrate high standards of professionalism and integrity at all times in support of Sepura’s core values of customer focus, integrity, teamwork, quality and innovation.
We have implemented a code of business conduct and ethics, including a whistle-blowing policy, covering the whole of the business and our various stakeholder interests. This is regularly reviewed and reiterated to staff and business partners.
Human rights
We respect all human rights and adhere to all relevant government guidelines, taking practical steps to ensure that our products are not supplied to organisations that may use them to advance terrorism, internal repression or otherwise abuse human rights.
Modern slavery
As part of our commitment to corporate social responsibility and human rights, we have taken action to understand all potential modern slavery risks related to our business and to put in place steps that are aimed at ensuring that there is no slavery or human trafficking in our business or its supply chain.
Further details can be found in our statement in accordance with the Modern Slavery Act 2015, which is accessible here.
Conflict minerals
We have also taken action to understand and tackle the risk of the use of “Conflict Minerals” in our products and supply chain, to ensure that all the minerals included in our products are obtained from socially and environmentally responsible sources that do not directly or indirectly contribute to conflict, or benefit or finance armed groups.
Further details set out in our statement on Conflict Minerals, which is accessible here.
Employee relations
As a business driven largely by technical development and innovation, our main assets lie in the talent and skills of our people. We aim to attract, retain and motivate the highest calibre of employee by encouraging and rewarding high performance through competitive remuneration and incentives.
Sepura is an Investor in People - accredited employer, committed to providing learning and development opportunities for our employees. Formal performance reviews are conducted annually, with two-way communication being actively encouraged.
All UK employees are given the opportunity to join our Corporate Private Healthcare and Dental schemes. We also offer free influenza injections and all staff members have free access to a stress counselling service.
Regular company-wide social events are organised and promoted by our Social Committee, many of which encourage the inclusion of our employee's families.
Equality and diversity
We are committed to providing equality of opportunity to all existing and prospective employees. We are supportive of the employment and advancement of disabled workers, giving full and fair consideration to job applications and making appropriate arrangements for the training and career development of existing employees.
Health and safety
We are committed to protecting the health and safety of our employees, and third parties who visit our sites, as well as having a positive influence on our supply chain throughout the world.
We are legally compliant and, where appropriate, work to exceed these requirements to provide safe working environments and a robust programme of occupational health management.
To support this ethos, we use a Health & Safety Management System which identifies risks. These risks are continuously monitored and reviewed, then eliminated or reduced with control measures which are communicated to all relevant stakeholders.
Community involvement
We aim to be an active employer and a responsible corporate citizen in the communities in which we operate.
Our highly active social committee coordinates company-wide social and sports events and supports and promotes charitable initiatives undertaken by individuals, teams or departments.
Management commitment
We aim to achieve excellence by meeting customer expectations as well as regulatory, legislative and contractual requirements, including those from governments, in addition to other requirements deemed appropriate.
Further details of our commitments can be found in our Business Management Systems statement.
