We have a collaborative, friendly, informal environment at Sepura. It is vital for us that we can share ideas and experiences and develop personal or team relationships to further our capability.
We see social events and volunteering as a key way of doing this and encourage team members to share their hobbies and interests with others in the business. Sepura's staff led social committee runs numerous events and ongoing meetups across the year. Yes, we host pub quizzes and barbecues, but also bread making, karting, ceramic painting and much more. We also have a Sepura football team, an in-house band, The Radio Heads, and are looking to put together a mixed netball team.
Volunteering and fundraising
Members of the Sepura team can also get involved in charity or voluntary activities, including fundraising events, such as the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge, to support our nominated charity of the year.
Our volunteering policy enables individuals to take up to two days of paid leave each year to support projects or organisations which benefit the local or educational community. As part of this initiative, we have partnered with STEMPOINT East to develop more STEM Ambassadors at Sepura, to inspire and engage young people to pursue science, technology, engineering or mathematics (STEM) subjects and careers.
“Thank you to the staff at Sepura for their generous donation... [It] will help support world-leading services, be it innovative research into the treatment of cardiothoracic diseases, supporting the development and well-being of our staff or providing specialist equipment to help patients throughout their recovery. We look forward to continuing to work with them in 2023."
