Sepura Staff Continue to Support Ukrainian Refugees
The Sepura team and wider community have come together at their Cambridge headquarters to support refugees who have been forced to flee Ukraine.
Over the past couple of months, the Sepura community have donated over two tonnes of clothing, equipment, food and medical provisions, as well as a significant number of laptops and smartphones, to send to refugees who have fled to Poland.
The donations included blankets, sleeping bags, a variety of food, soaps, towels, baby food and supplies, medical provisions, cutlery and basic necessities, airbeds, torches, rucksacks and bags, and much more.
Staff from Wilson Vale, who run the company’s in-house staff restaurant, also made a generous donation of non-perishable food supplies, adding to the substantial shipment.
Sepura's CEO, Steve Barber, said: "The majority of the collection was made at just two days’ notice in March, but such was the support from the team that we actually had a second shipment the following week as the donations continued to pour in. We are very proud and grateful to everyone that supported our efforts and hope that it provides some comfort to those who need it.”
“We are already proud of working for Sepura, a company that makes a real difference by providing vital communication devices to public safety users around the world. I am even more proud having seen the heart-warming efforts of our team in Cambridge to support Ukrainian refugees with this donation.

A further donation of laptops, smartphones and other IT equipment has also been sent to a school in Poland, enabling refugee Ukrainian schoolchildren to take part in lessons and assisting with language translations and communications where possible.
IT Support Engineer, Michael Carrillo, led the initiative to provide the IT equipment, saying:
"It is important to all of us to help people in need. We were lucky in having some redundant IT equipment available at short notice and once we received the request, we were determined to support the schools in Poland where we could. We hope the equipment makes a difference for the schoolchildren at this difficult time.”
