Sepura Launches Streamlined TETRA Hand Portable
At this week's Critical Communications World, we have launched the SC23, a robust hand-portable radio with a reduced keypad and streamlined feature set of core TETRA functionality.
Complimenting the existing SC Series of TETRA radios, this new device provides an ideal option for pool or temporary users who do not need extended functionality to perform their roles.
The SC23 boasts essential safety features similar to the market-leading SC20, such as enhanced fidelity audio, easy-to-locate emergency buttons, water porting technology and dust protection. In contrast, it has a smaller keypad, a grayscale screen and does not include Wi-Fi or Bluetooth connectivity.
This streamlined capability means the device is well-suited for operators in industries such as mining, utilities, transport and airport baggage handling, who may not always require advanced features.
Available in a range of frequency bands, the SC23's simplified functionality is also available in VHF, providing extended coverage across expansive outdoor environments or complex underground networks.
“We are seeing a particular demand from the mining industry around the world, where teams of pool workers need a simple-to-use, reliable and robust radio to cover their shifts. The SC23 is the ideal radio to support these users, giving fleet managers the benefit of a trusted, proven device to complement the SC20 and the SCG22 mobile radio, enhancing staff safety on sites.”
Phil Woodley, Head of Products - Devices, Sepura
With the same accessory connections and batteries as the SC20 and SC21, many of our existing audio and charging accessories are compatible with the new device, reducing the cost of ownership for mission and business-critical organisations.
“Sepura is continuing to invest in its TETRA portfolio, to support of users in critical fields such as mining, transport and utilities. The new SC23 is a key addition for these users, which can seamlessly be added to a Sepura fleet to provide core critical communications.”
Anthony Sutton, Worldwide Sales Director, Sepura
The SC23 will publicly launch this week at Critical Communications World in Helsinki, Finland, where it will be demonstrated alongside our VHF TETRA portfolio and hybrid TETRA and LTE solution.
