A successful Critical Communications World in Finland
The recent event in Helsinki was a great success, with over 7,000 visitors in attendance and significant interest in Sepura's latest solutions and product demonstrations.
The numbers of visitors and depth of conversations on the Sepura stand clearly showed the continuing demand for innovation within the industry, with our SCU3 hybrid TETRA and LTE solution being one of the most popular elements of the event. The dual-mode device was shown running multiple applications, including dispatch, mapping and video streaming alongside its ability to support TETRA voice communication.
At the show, the team were also able to demonstrate continued investment in Sepura's existing TETRA portfolio with the launch of the new SC23 streamlined TETRA hand portable. Based on our flagship SC20 but with a reduced keypad, monochrome screen, and reduced functionality, the SC23 is ideal for organisations with large teams of pool or temporary workers. The SC23 will be available in both UHF and VHF frequencies alongside, the SCG22 mobile and SC20 hand portable radios.
In addition, CEO Steve Barber was re-elected to the TCCA Board, with a vow to continue campaigning for interoperability, open standards and the co-existence of TETRA and broadband technologies, providing users with a choice to match against their operational needs.
“This was the busiest CCW for many years, and for many of our visitors, that attraction was in understanding the pathway to migration toward LTE solutions. The SCU3 provides this pathway, supporting existing TETRA functionality from a proven supplier, with the additional functionality of LTE connectivity.”
Peter Hudson, Chief Technology Officer, Sepura
The Sepura team capped a successful event by becoming the first supplier to be announced as the winner of the 'Advances in Sustainability' category at the International Critical Communications Awards. We won the award by demonstrating the SCU3 Dual Mode’s capability to act as a critical communications hub, replacing the need for separate devices connected to TETRA and LTE networks.
The next Critical Communications World will take place from 14-16 May 2024 in Dubai, UAE.
