6 February 2017 - Sepura has been awarded a significant contract for almost 20,000 radios by the Free State of Thuringia - the eleventh of the sixteen German states to opt for Sepura TETRA solutions.
The prestigious award - won by Selectric GmbH, Sepura's sole partner for public safety in Germany - will see Sepura provide a combination of STP9000 and STP8X hand-portables, as well as vehicle installations of SRG3900 mobiles, for use by non-police public safety organisations throughout the region.
"We are extremely proud that our radios have been selected by Thuringia - a state whose communication solutions have, historically, been held by our competitors," said Hooman Safaie, Sepura's Regional Director for DACH (Germany, Austria and Switzerland).
"This new success demonstrates the formidable strength of our partnership with Selectric. It also reflects our commitment to the German public safety market - the largest TETRA market in the world - and our determination to maintain market leadership in the country."
Hendrik Pieper, General Manager of Selectric commented:
"I am confident that by selecting Sepura radios - in combination with our local expertise, delivery maintenance and training - the state of Thuringia has made the best choice for its digital communications.
"Sepura is a well-established, highly respected brand in the
German public safety arena, and a perfect match for the operational
challenges of Thuringia's public safety users. These radios will
allow them to work more effectively and efficiently, improving both
user safety and the safety of the people of Thuringia."
