Selectric, Sepura's sales partner in Germany, have been successful in a tender for supplying St Wendel district's Disaster Protection Department. The team, including St Wendel Fire Department, will be supplied with 300 Sepura SC2020 TETRA handheld radios.
The department oversees the management of the district radio systems covering everything from technical operations to updating the disaster recovery plan. They also co-ordinate all relief organizations within the district of St. Wendel, so robust next generation digital radios were a necessary upgrade.
The 300 Sepura devices will help to modernize the department's communications capability, thanks to the SC2020's innovative dual bearer capability and fit for purpose data applications combined with the exceptional audio quality and robustness expected of Sepura's radios.
The SC2020 has IP66, IP67 and IP68 environmental protection ratings, allowing the radio to be immersed in water up to 1m as well as being waterproof and dustproof. Unique water porting technology provides crystal-clear communication, even in harsh weather conditions, with the ability to clean the housing under running water.
As part of the innovative SC2 Series of hand terminals, the SC2020 offers the user the capability to combine mission-critical voice, status, message and data capabilities with secondary high-speed data carrier services.
