UK based Sepura partner, 2826 Limited recently secured a contract to design, install and manage a digital radio network for West Wittering Estate Plc.
The West Wittering Estate offers wonderful unspoiled views of Chichester Harbour and the South Downs beyond, the natural sandy beach being a favourite destination for a family day out for generations.
The blue flag awarded beach welcomes thousands of visitors on a daily basis offering visitors some of the best wind and kitesurfing conditions on the south coast, as well as, parking for 15,000 cars only 100 metres from the beach.
Managing such a tourist hotspot brings with it logistical challenges as behind the scenes over 60 members of staff ensure a perfect British beach experience for all, including traffic management, car parking, first aid, lifeguards, catering, cleaning and general maintenance across a large estate.
Estate CEO, James Crespi and his team had been experiencing difficulties with their radio system for a while and felt it was time to get some advice from 2826 Ltd.
Following initial consultation and coverage surveying 2826 Ltd proposed a new digital two way radio solution offering users IP67 rated handsets with long battery life, crystal clear audio and integration of panic alarms, as well as, strategically placed call points in case of emergencies.
The new Sepura digital radio solution comprises multi repeater infrastructure providing estate wide coverage. Ten Sepura full keypad radios and forty non keypad radios all with coloured fronts for easy talk group recognition were supplied. A desktop radio was also installed in the Lifeguard hut on the beach to monitor emergency alarms and call points.
"I am delighted and suitably impressed with our new Sepura digital radio system, this new installation is a massive improvement on our previous solution in terms of audio and handset build quality, this was vital given the especially harsh British weathers in which we operate on a daily basis" said James Crespi, CEO. "The upgrade process from start to finish was a smooth one with no operational downtime and the approach taken by Stuart Young and his team at 2826 has been exemplary."
Stuart Young, Director for 2826 Ltd. said: "This project has been a pleasure to work on and the team at West Wittering have been very welcoming, we look forward to managing the radio system for James and his team for many years to come. We will continue to meet on a regular basis to ensure they get the most out of their Sepura radio investment in the future. This contract further reinforces 2826's capabilities to provide the best professional digital radio systems on the South Coast, where users require tough, dependable and highly featured digital radio solutions".
