Sepura brings cutting-edge communications to Pasto Municipality
Sepura has supplied, installed and commissioned a complete TETRA system for the public transport network of Pasto Municipality, Colombia.
Cambridge, 6 December 2016 - Sepura has supplied, installed and commissioned a complete TETRA system for the public transport network of Pasto Municipality, Colombia.
The project - awarded by LG CNS on behalf of Avante SEPT - forms part of an initiative to equip the country's major cities with integrated public transportation systems.
The solution - comprising Nebula TETRA infrastructure, a fleet management and control centre and over 550 mobile and portable radios - forms part of a cutting-edge, network-wide fleet control and management system, designed to optimise service and reduce travelling and waiting times.
In addition to managing communication between all staff on the network, the solution provides near-real-time information - such as location, alarms or events - which, in conjunction with an Intelligent Transportation System, allows the redeployment of resources to minimise delays, as well as providing up-to-date passenger information via the Passenger Information System.
"We are delighted to contribute to the efficient running of Pasto Municipality's public transport network. This solution will boost operational efficiency and significantly enhance the overall passenger experience," said Jairo Gomez, Sepura's Country Manager for Colombia.
"TETRA is just taking off in Colombia, and of the eight
contracts awarded to date, we have been selected to participate in
six. This reaffirms our market-leading position not only in this
territory, but in the provision of critical communications
worldwide."
