1 March 2017 - Idre Fjall, Sweden, has chosen a Sepura TETRA system to boost communications and optimise safety for staff and visitors at the internationally renowned ski resort.
The resort - which recently hosted the Ski-Cross World Cup and will hold the Speed Ski World Championship later this month - is home to over 40 ski runs and 82km of cross-country trails. One of the largest year-round resorts, it plays host to more than 600,000 visitors each year.
The solution, supplied in conjunction with partner Swedish Radio Supply, comprises TETRA infrastructure and a fleet of STP9000 hand-portable radios.
"After thorough testing, the Sepura solution was unbeaten for both sound quality and overall reliability," said Kjell Skoglund, Operations Manager for Idre Fjall.
"Users found the radios to be intuitive and easy to use, while the flexible infrastructure allows for a two-phase deployment, providing us with a cost-effective upgrade path for our planned network extension."
Dawn Griffiths, Business Development Manager for Sepura, commented:
"Swedish Radio Supply's expertise and customer focus - in combination with our class-leading product portfolio - has delivered numerous high profile contract wins over the last decade.
"We are delighted that our solution will contribute to the smooth running of international ski events, as well as the day-to-day running of this world-class resort."
