Outstanding People and Products Recognised at the ICCA Awards
We are delighted to announce that we have won not one, not two, but three awards at the recent TCCA International Critical Communications Awards ceremony held in Vienna, Austria!
Outstanding Contribution to Critical Communications Award
Sepura’s Senior Specialist, Diana Ball, was recognised for her 'Outstanding Contribution to Critical Communications' in helping define the standards trusted by TETRA users worldwide.
Diana’s contribution is fundamental not only to Sepura’s success but also to the global critical communications community, including manufacturers of TETRA infrastructure and devices. Her work specified the device-to-device Direct Mode Operation (DMO) protocol and complex mechanisms of DMO repeaters, gateways, and repeater/gateways.
Best MC-X Device of the Year Award
The second award was for one of our newest products: the SCU3 Broadband Vehicle Device.
The SCU3 won 'Best MC-X Device of the Year', recognising its flexible capability, which enables concurrent use of LTE Mission Critical Push-to-Talk (MCPTT) alongside Bluetooth, Ethernet, USB and Wi-Fi connectivity.
Combined with the ability to reuse many existing Sepura accessories, this device provides a future-proof way for Mission Critical users to utilise LTE.
Best Use of Critical Communications in Mining, Oil and Gas Award
Finally, our AutoMate AppSPACE Application and SCG22 Mobile Radio were awarded 'Best Use of Critical Communications in Mining, Oil and Gas' as part of the National Wireless Mining Solution.
Using their existing TETRA network and implementing a simple software upgrade on their SC Series terminals, National Wireless deployed the AutoMate App to replace the previous, dated system of managing the watering of dirt and dust pollution on the mine’s roads.
With geofences set around the filling points and automated radio controls, the mine can now better maintain operational efficiency whilst supporting on-site safety, by automating the water cart refill process with minimal disruption.
“The ICCA Award for Diana, and our accompanying demonstrations at the Critical Communications World exhibition demonstrate how Sepura’s team of developers and industry experts continue to lead the way in innovating new solutions for public safety. Our SCU3 Dual Mode device, alongside our trusted and proven TETRA devices, will be at the forefront of critical communications for many years to come.”
Steve Barber, CEO, Sepura
The Sepura teams’ dedication to producing reliable and robust products for Mission Critical users across industries is second to none and receiving recognition for this hard work by an industry-leading body is no mean feat! Congratulations to all the team.
