PowerTrunk, Inc., part of the Sepura Group, announces the first digital TETRA radio communications system for the U.S. Territory of Guam.
6 February 2017 - PowerTrunk, Inc., part of the Sepura Group, announces the first digital TETRA radio communications system for the U.S. Territory of Guam. The TETRA system was delivered through iCONNECT, a provider of quality wireless telecom products and services in Guam. iCONNECT is deploying the TETRA system as it begins a process to replace the island's current iDEN network.
iCONNECT's initial TETRA system is now fully operational at Guam Regional Medical City, the island's latest private hospital. The hospital's new radio system provides real-time communication that enhances safety and elevates service to ensure a high-quality experience for patients and visitors.
The PowerTrunk TETRA solution for the hospital includes Sepura digital two-way radios, a mast-mount base station, and distributed antenna system (DAS) to provide the hospital staff clear and discrete communications to protect the confidentiality of patient information.
"With our first anchor customer in place, and through our strategic partnership with PowerTrunk, we are looking forward to offering our next-generation push-to-talk (PTT) services to our diverse base of customers, which include healthcare, hospitality, transportation, port authorities, and other mission-critical commercial applications," said Richard Yu, Managing Director of iCONNECT.
